Some of you may know Brian (Syndicate) and Dominick (X_Trippin) from some runs a while back. This last weekend we had a welcome back run for Brian and a chance for a group of us to get up to the mountains for the first snow. Rigs for the weekend included:
Me - 2nd Gen Xterra
Brian - 2nd Gen Xterra
Dom - 2nd Gen Xterra
Tim - FJ
Steven - Pathy
Jason - 4Runner
Moe - 4Runner
Jon - 1st Gen Xterra
Greg - White Jeep TJ
Mike - White Jeep YJ
Saturday we started our trek in Green Valley passing through Crab Flats and Big Pine Flats. We headed NE on 3N16 to North on 3N17 looping back to the West then South and meeting up again with 3N16. The winds were ripping over the mountain. After we did the first moderate section we decided to avoid the difficult loop after determining any off camber situation could roll us on our sides.

We passed a few jeeps on 3N16. Apparently they thought we knew what we were doing so they jumped in line. They were a good group and made it through no problem.

Jon assessing the damage after the third obstacle of the day. It was bound to happen. I definitely broke in my sliders.

Nice pics and write-up, thanks for posting.
Is Brian back for a while now, or just on leave? I thought he went into the Army?
-
He's just on leave through the end of the year. When he goes back he's starting his airborne training.

When I was in the Army we used to say "Why jump out of a perfectly good airplane?"

Because you don't know the pilot!

John Bull and Gold Mountain are some of my favorite trails at Big Bear. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
