Chuck Box

Thought I would share this with you all, inspiration struck Saturday morning and this is what it turned into. Kudos to Steve C for hanging with me Sunday afternoon and listening to (or tolerating) my babble about how, where, and when to place things. He was a gem, as all of you know, and instead of just dealing with me, he brought some solid suggestions and guidance. For all this, his rig will get a built in kitchen this Saturday.

So this little deal (as the photos suggest) is built on 100# slides and can be used with table/cutting board only, table/cutting board and stove, or stove only. it straps down and takes up half the width of my cargo area, with my recovery gear filling the rest of the distance to the rear seats. We will see how happy I am with it after I actually get to use it, which probably wont be until Rendezvous.

Thanks for looking!

That's pretty slick, is it permanently mounted or can it easily be removed? I like to be able to keep the rear compartment open for different gear depending on what I'm doing but something like that might just work out really nicely.

I've been drawing up similar, my only problem is I like sleeping in my truck,  I need to figure out how to mount a huge 60qt fridge on some #200 slides and still sleep inside.  I've been thinking of doing a hatch tent of sorts so I can sleep inside with the hatch open and the fridge/kitchen extended out

I agree, most of the time I sleep in the back of my X, much easier than putting up a tent and campsite.

What a great idea, that's a pretty sweet setup.
I saw this cheap answer to a hatch tent

I might have to "borrow" this idea.
