Rocks are awesome Joe. I mean who doesn't want custom rock formed sheet metal? Look at this beauty from Coyote Lake Trail (near Shaver Lake) Saturday.

Nice way to get some custom air conditioning! Rocks are Awesome, now trees that tend to jump out in front of me not as much. That is an entirely different story.

How much firewood is everyone bringing? Or maybe I should ask.... how much wood do we need to bring?

Yes.

Plus, we’re in a forest. Likely some deadfall to chop up with that axe you’ve been carrying around and never used. (Collective you, not you you :) )

I'm good with that! I have some left over fence boards on the side of my house that I'll try to cut up and bring, too.

It now looks like all three of my sons will be coming.  My oldest (Andrew) is going to bring his new 4Runner.  The boys will be heading back Sunday (they can only take one day off), but I will stay until Monday.

Woody - Jessica is coming.

We have also decided to leave the boy with Nana, so it'll just be the two of us. Since no other kids are coming, he'll just be bored out of his mind and drive us crazy anyway. :o We'll do a different "kid friendly" trip in a few weekends for him, maybe Santa Rosa Mountain or Big Bear.

Just saw this

Bad news.  We are going to be in Inyo National Forest.  No campfires unless in the steel pit at an official campground.  Here is a link to the Fire Order:  https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/fseprd737727.pdf

That sucks.

I've almost got the green light to go.  I have a propane fire pit I will bring along.
