Lol I really need to get out. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of work. I was really disappointed to be out of state when my suspension got put on.

We missed seeing you Shi...the Mod day was great, and I can attest to the fact that Nick worked very hard on your Xterra.  We also talked on the CB on the way up to Santiago Peak about how much improved the suspension worked.

Welcome back from Beantown!  :)

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Nick really drove home the fact that stock suspension is far inferior to modified suspension, over & over & over again  :-\ I only heard bits and pieces of the conversation, because I was using a late 19th century CB unit (Thanks again Angel) but it was still hurtful  :'( You know, us stock guys have feelings too.

I'm obviously kidding, and very jealous  :-*
I love it when a plan comes together

Your day is coming...

...and Nick's comments were mainly how the "stock" OR suspension that was "new" to Shi's X was performing so much better than the previously sacked out stuff with 90K on it.  Not really custom, but definitely better over the bumpy stuff than the OEM Sport suspension... ;)

A few pics of the Mod Day/Silverado Canyon/Santiago Peak Xcursion I snapped.

The crew assembles for a group shot in the American Overland Expedtion 4x4 garage:

Another big thank you to Alex Cavallos, owner of AOE4x4, for hosting our Mod Day as well as coffee, danish, and donuts:

Alex also set up his RTT for everyone to climb into and check out.  What is that vehicle mounted to the RTT?  :D

A big thanks to everyone who came out and participated in this Xcursion!  Also, a BIG thanks to Ray (HEVAK) for taking the lead and all the PM's leading up to the run.  ;D

This was a long BUT great day for the Club!

MOD DAY!! - Silverado Canyon to Santiago Peak - July 15, 2012

At AOE4x4 we had 25 people and at least 17 rigs in attendance.

I know personally that drshankles got skids installed, RMaligie installed a CB and antenna, HEVAK installed a CB and ordered pizza, panathrasher installing things that now I can't remember, NPGTech/Socaltl11/rawkerstatus installed panathrasher's OR suspension on Shi819's Xterra, RBDuffer and Usko99 hung out, and I am sure there were a few more that I am forgetting.

SWR meters were flying everywhere...and a TON of bench racing and X-versations were had by all!!  8)

Oh yeah, and Max Power finally tuned his flux capacitor!  ;)

A special thanks to Chad/OrangeX for showing up (his Xterra was wrecked a couple of weeks ago  :'() and dontaing a CB to the Club.

Any new members that need a CB...please PM me and we can make arrangements to wean you off of hand signals or the FRS.  Hope to see the OrangeX back on the trail soon Chad!!!

There was even an unconfirmed sighting of Frank B. at a Non-Anza Borrego Themed Xcursion...SCCX royalty in the house!  ;)

Meeting everyone, especially the new members was great too!!  ROCK SLIDER, rawkerstatus, sdcalKLR, justin12345, just to name a few.

Good times everyone, see you on the trail soon!

John, GhostX

Lol I got in my truck when I got home and it felt so different. It was really weird not to be taking bumps so hard.
