Yeah, I'm going to try to make it later in the day most likely on sat 10/24 due to soccer games. If not early the next day, let me know if anybody wants to caravan or whatever.

I must be a noob, I can't find the excursion you are refering to. Is this the event at Johnson Valley that I heard about when I was in Sedona last week? I can do Saturday. Where is everyone meeting? We would like to hook up some moderate trails, in a stock 4x4 06 OR.

Yes, this is the big Johnson Valley meet. It sounds like its well organized and should be a lot of fun. Here's a link for more information.

ok who else is going? I might go and do Gold Mtn and a few other trails. I finally mounted the rims I got from Matt and put two new BFG MTs up front. The new tires needs to see dirt ASAP-I don't want them to get use to pavement. My friend already called my rig a street queen with the shiny rims.. >:(

the power steering line is a pain. Make sure you steal her brake line wrenches

Wasn't that bad. Some troubles getting the splines reseated, but that was about it. Would've been easier with some daylight, but oh well.

I am going to be leaving from San Diego Saturday in the very wee hours of the AM. I'm thinking around 3:30AM so that we definitel get there before the scheduled events at 9AM. Details:
This run will be taking an easier 4x4 trail, Rattlesnake Cyn, south to lone cyn. North meeting with hwy 18 where we catch a little pavement to start the real fun on Gold Mtn. Gold Mtn meets with Holcomb Valley rd. which connects us to John Bull, the most difficult trail in the Big Bear area. from there we take a couple forest service roads back down to hwy 18. we'll pass through Big Bear city to fuel up and get back to camp.

Details:
This run will be taking Rattlesnake cyn. south, to Lone Cyn North which meets with Hwy 18. We hit the pavemnt for a few miles to get to the trail head of Jacoby Cyn which meets with Holcomb Valley Rd. a smooth dirt rd. that will link us directly with the East end of the John Bull Trail to head south off of john bull to holcomb valley rd. and back to camp via hwy 18 & hwy 247

Looks like I won't be there on time to make any of sat day runs due to double soccer games, but still could meet up later in day at camp or lunch time since I would be leaving my place @ 10am after the games.
At the momemt kind of lost my voice, so I'll see how things go sat and try to make it out :D

we ran gold mtn, and little John Bull. Headed to the discovery center and have some of Bobby's famous BBQ. Thanks again Bobby.

Sarah and I had a great time with you all on Sat. Sorry we had to pull away @ Hwy 18. Didn't think we would make it home by 5, didn't want to lose the baby sitter for next time ;) We forgot our camera, so we will be looking to see all your pix.
