Hi guys,
So I've started looking for places to buy steel to make a few things for my Xterra, and I was wondering if there are any shops around the San Diego area that have good prices per foot? I checked out Industrial Metal Supply (http://www.imsmetals.com/) and asked about their 2" square tubing just as a reference point for prices, and they wanted $150 for 20ft. Is that the normal rate, or are they trying to jack me?
Anyone have a preferred steel supplier? ;D
Thanks!

Escondido has a big metal shop - don't recall the name but they've got an Internet presence which you might be able to Google.
Found it: http://www.emsupply.com/pages/front.htm (http://www.emsupply.com/pages/front.htm)

We're heading down there this weekend to meet up w/a friend and plan out some projects. My buddy has a place in mind and we're going to check it out. I'll try and snag a biz card.

Thanks for the link Paul!
Bobby B., a business card would be much appreciated!

Bobby!
If you're gonna be in and around SD, if you have time to meet, would you mind bringing your stock roofrack crossbars?
Thanks!
Fred

The place we ended up was Escondido Metal Supply (same place Paul was referring to).

It was alright. I think the place in the IE I went to before, Schorr Metals, was better, but this place was good sized and seememd organized.
