No, but experience has taught me that its nice to have some tools and basic survival items with you at all times.
About ten years ago while briefly stationed in Montana, I nearly killed my family by going down a snow covered trail in the late afternoon (in December) to look at a herd of elk.
After going down what appeared to be a plowed trail for about a mile, I stopped. It was then that my Isuzu Trooper sank to the door jambs in the snow.
I had my wife and two kids with me, no working cell phone, no blankets, no food, nothing...
At about 4pm I made the decision to leave them and take off walking (in jeans and a sweatshirt). I walked 3 miles and found a rangers station (took me about 2 hours and it was now dark and very cold). I was lucky that they knew exactly where I left the truck and they had a very large truck with a winch. It took 3 hours to get the truck out. If I had made the wrong decision and walked the opposite direction it would have been 10 miles to the nearest help.
Ever since then, I dont care where I am, or what I am doing... I have basic supplies with me at all time. I dont care if help is across the street!!!

Thanks... Today I added a 1500/3000 watt inverter and had the D-ring mounts re-drilled for 3/4 inch pins... Those little 1/2 inch ones looked like childs toys.
Just a note for anyone wanting to run a large gauge cable through the firewall on the passengers side, its possible but not the easiest thing in the world to do... The grommet is all the way at the top and half the dash had to come apart to get to it from the inside.

I think I saw you driving on Melrose Avenue while I was turning left on Alga?

Looked like you had installed some light covers on your Xterra.

What about the on board air.  I'd like to see how you did that.
This isn't Santa's Workshop.  This place smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me.
