Title: Snorkel (raised air intake)
Post by: SCsilverX on April 26, 2010, 03:45:13 PM: So Oz inspired me to make my own instead of handing out over $250 for a premade one. Total cost was about $100. It may not be the prettiest thing, but dang it-it's functional!

The top of the snorkel head sits about 1" below the roof rack line, the pictures make it look higher than it really is. I will not be making anymore of these.

Post by: SCsilverX on June 15, 2010, 09:16:18 PM: i bought 3" OD 16 gauge metal and cut/welded it all together. bought a safari snorkel head online for $50 and used some flex tube for inside the fender. the 90 degree bend out of the fender is a cobra head. i'd build more of these for $250 if there was enough interest.
