Q.) Okay, so wouldn't you way rather just hop in the X and head out to the desert to explore some crazy cool old dirt roads and hang out with Mitch and Brian and have a nice fire and stay up late and talk about UFO's and do some of that stuff the creepy old indian guy gave to paul.

A.) Roger dude. I'm in!

My son and I are in for both days.  Frogs & Gnomes?? - I'll bring extra shells!

I think firewood is a good idea, it will be about 44 to 45 degrees at night, not too cold -besides keeps those coyotes further away.
I think I burned some weird formica table top last time - doubt if I find anything that big or flamable this year........ ???

I hate the smell of burning Formica, brings back some really bad memories (and just smells really bad too).

Sorry I won't be there this year.  Have a great time everyone.

Chris, welcome to the club.  I sent you my number as well, in case you don't get hold of Don.  Also, if you've not seen them yet, the Xcursion Guidelines at the top of this section may answer some questions.

Oh, and to further what Don said, you also never want to get between Mitch and Dan.  (In fact, I should probably just add that to the Guidelines.)

I thought we didn't talk about AFDB's on the club site because they could be listening?

I just did a test run of the west and western part of the central road and conditions are nothing short of outstanding. People if you make one trip this year ... make it next week!

Here's my trip pictures:

The only tough part is the water crossing which I did two years ago dead nutz stock. The water is deep but just follow Brian.  ;)

There aren't any "technical" crawling and only a couple of places that are "challenging" - lots of lose sand (air down & 4WD) and about 50 yards worth of easy/light "rock garden" in Shaw Pass. I would say this run is very stock friendly, and I mean that in a "Paul stock friendly" not a "Brian stock friendly" way. Top off with gas at Barstow where I found gas at $2.09-$2.19.
