What's the difference in output vs. the OEM? Reason I'm asking is I'm looking at keeping a dual battery system charged without over charging putting too much stress on the system especially when under load. Other thing I'm concerned about is over charging the battery bank. One area I readily admit I'm not too versed in is electronics and it's related systems with our vehicles. Knowledge is power so lay some knowledge on me!

I'm drooling over here. That's a bad ass alternator!  8)

I'll wait for your first hand review before I buy one (and maybe wait until I start having problems with my factory one, which probably won't be long with water crossings and my dual battery setup). Hopefully it's more reliable than the Mean Green ones for the 1st gens, but it sure does look like a quality piece of equipment!

The OE alternator cranks out 110 amps max and not sure how many at idle.
    The electrical system needs about 13.5-14.5volts to charge or maintain the batterie(s). Add to this the task of running all electrical components installed on the rig.

 The alternator works 2 fold in that it will run your accessories and charge your batteries as needed. When you install a second battery your available current is now being consumed by another "accessory". Adding a hi output alternator makes everything jive better and charge your batteries faster.
     This alternator lives 14+ volts,

can charge several batteries and run many accessories all at the same time. Couple this with a good charge controller, and you have a very robust electrical system.

I've only had this for a nearly a day but I already feel like my rig fires up faster. Like a brand new battery.
    Maybe it's the placebo effect but I'm very happy and have peace of mind running OBA, winch, the fridge, lights.
     My ARB compressor sounds A LOT louder and the hum of the pumps seam to be cranking more air, cycling faster and less labored.

The Mean Green is similar to an OE running higher output. It's still susceptible and has similar limitations and weaknesses to the OE unit.... Water being the primary one. DC Power weaves the internals in a completely different, unique,t way allowing them to be more resilient and robust and even run under water.
   Although they put out less juice, they should seriously be considered when upgrading.

Above are types of winding.
The 1st is a 3 phase basic wind. This is the industry common but is hosed by heat.
  The 3rd is a 6 phase wind capable of very hi-output but also can lose 30% capacity to heat.
  The middle is also a 6phase but the wind is called a "hairpin" and it's ability to pass air through the coil, instead of around the coil, makes it incredibly efficient. This is what DC and RuggedRocks is putting out.
   The OE market (Denso) is going this direction on the hi end line now being placed in the newest vehicles. DC power is one of the only companies capable of obtaining and using Denso's technology.
   The best of the best currently being produced. In 5 years, every OE will be using this technology/wind.
