*** Short Notice ***

Chariot Canyon to Oriflamme Canyon.

Saturday 28MAY11

Meet Spot: Banner Store parking lot in Banner, CA
Time: 10:00 AM
Weather: High of 89*F, Low of 65*F  It might be one of the last few weeks to get out in the desert before it gets too hot.

From there the plan is to air down and cross back over the 78 and head down Chariot and Oriflamme Canyon.

Reference: Southern Guide To California Backroads & 4WD Trails by Charles Wells, Trail 52 pg. 188-189

This trail is 4x4 stock friendly.  You will have to choose your line carefully in a few spots and will get some three wheel action going down Oriflamme for sure.

Communications: Primary: FRS: Channel 5, Sub-code 24; Alternate CB: Channel 24

At the end of the trail I plan on airing up and heading back up to Julian.  The entire run will only take about 1.5-2 hrs.  There are plenty of other trails in the area that can be done if you want to continue elsewhere in Anza.  I'd love to make this an all day event but I'm dropping some of my family off in Julian and want to take my dad out for a short off-road trip.  Sorry for the short notice...I'd rather not go out on this one alone but will if nobody can make it.

I'll check again in the morning to see if there any late joins.  I should be there a little before 10:00 AM and plan on starting soon after that.  Should I expect anyone else? Huh

Just got back.  Nice meeting  you and your family Mitch.

This trail was a little rougher than the last time I ran it.  I didn't bottom out once last time and did a bunch today.  The truck must be riding low with the extra weight.  Skid plates were getting a work out today.  Time for a lift I guess...

My dad took a few pictures along the way.  I'll post them later.
