Hey gang,
I need to completely rebuild my SLR idler arm and centerlink.  Does anyone have a listing of all the various bushings etc. needed to rebuild both the idler and centerlink?  Also, part numbers and where I can buy the parts.
Thanks.

I've got 'cha.

Last I heard, there was a X club guy back east who had reproduced the bronze IA bushings and was selling them.  Otherwise, what I did in the meantime is get the regular plastic ones.  While there's no separate part # for them on an X, they're the same as the old hardbody ones, which are sold separately for around $12.  Xterraparts.com (courtesy Nissan in TX) has them on their site.

As far as the centerlink bearings, they are 5/8" spherical bearings.  These can be sourced from a variety of places.  I got mine from a race shop supply near me in Signal Hill.  The same size, teflon lined and stainless steel was around $32 apiece -- you need four.  I'm using cheaper, smaller ones -- because I keep eating them and the tolerances in mine aren't right on one side -- but I had to play with the washers, clips, etc. to get everything to fit.

I'll try and see if I have a card at home with the info.  I normally just drive over there.

Bobby B pulling thru!!!  Thanks for the info.  I'm gonna have a local shop do the work including some other things so I imagine if I just bring them the bearings they can handle the washer/clip issue.  I'll search XOC and see if I can find anything on that guy who is selling the bronze bushings.  But if anyone knows how to get those, please post up.
Thanks again.

Seeing your post reminded me of this.

I'm on the Colorado board too.  We had a post going about SLR replacement parts.  Some stuff here you can use.

Forgot to add, don't let the shop ding you too hard for swapping the bearings or the IA bushings.  It's really easy.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the Energy Suspension info. Now, in return, here's the info you need.

Hey Tom,

I have the complete SLR steering system and IA brace and things are getting pretty sloppy down there.

Which IA bushings did you end up going with?

FWIW, I'm just running the stock plastic ones I mentioned above and they're holding up well enough to get by.  Haven't had any issues with them in there, actually.
