Its sad that the my first post upon return is in the buy and sell forum. Anyways....

I need to get rid of this stuff. Want to buy other things both for my X and for me.

I figured I would give my fellow SCCX members first dibs. No unreasonable offer will be rejescted.
1. 4 BFG AT TA KO with uneven wear. I will edit the size when I take a look at them. Good only for a spare. I know they are 32". 25.00/each or 80.00/set of 4 Tire size is LT265/70R16
2. Xterra Rubber floor mats still in the box. I won these years ago at the Xterra championships up in big bear that we used to go to. 50.00 The mats are for a first generation Xterra
3. All factory skids except gas tank skid (already spoken for) engine skid, transmission skid, front skid, radiator skid. make me an offer
4. Rear factory bumper (replaced with shrock rear bumper) 100.00
5. 2 Yakima steelhead bike mounts/trays. These do not include the lock cores but they can easily be purchased at Sport chalet or REI. The only reason I am selling them is because I had to replace them to fit disc wheels. 100.00
6. HK .40cal USP Compact in blue finish w 2 (10round) mags, manual case and lock. If you are law enforcement I can swap the 10 rnd mags for hi-cap mags (12 rounds). 700.00
7. White powder coated large bird cage for birds as big as macaws. Pictures available upon request. Make an offer
8. Also found my original carpeted floor mats that were immediately replaced with the rubber floor mats, they are practically brand new.

I think thats it for now...

OK I'll clear up some of the questions regarding the firearm for sale. Its a Heckler and Koch USP compact in .40 cal (bigger than a 9mm but smaller than a .45cal). its a blue finish and carries a maximum of 10 rounds plus one in the pipe. It was purchased for home defense, so its been mainly stored in a lockbox, short of a few trips to the range. It has now been replaced so I don't need it anymore. I am including the original case, manual, 2 10 round mags, and the lock. I have 4 additional 10 round mags that I am selling at 25 bucks a piece, and 4 additional 12 round magazines at 30 bucks a piece. The 12 round mags are only available if you are law enforcement. Feel free to ask any other questions.

Re: purchasing the gun. The gun was originally purchased and registered legally to me, so if you purchase it all we have to do is go to a local gun store and have it re-DROSed. In other words have the registration changed from me to you. You will have to pay for the DROS (I think its about 40 bucks). The gun store will hold the firearm for 10 days and run your background check. Once everything comes back good then you can pick up your firearm. The gun is california legal to the best of my knowledge, I will confirm since the list changes regularly.

Feel free to ask any other questions, but please PM me if the questions are relating to the purchasing of this firearm.

Wrong size for tires. Sorry.

FYI they are 30" tires. Well 30.65"

285/70 16 would be closer to 32"

In addition to Buffalo's response, There might be more you have to deal with.

California requires everyone wanting to buy a handgun to have an HSC, or handgun safety certificate.  It's a test you have to take and then you're issued the SC card, which you have to present when buying the gun.  It's common sense easy if you've had firearm training/exposure, $25 for this IIRC, and good for a number of years.  Now as active military, you may be exempt from this, and the safe-handling demo you have to give when you pick up a gun at the end of the 10-day wait period.  But the onus to really know this is on you; many gun shops aren't that great when it comes to really knowing the rules.

Also, you have to show two residency items that show matching addresses.  Your driver's license and car reg/utlility bill, something like that.  Because you're military, depending on your official state of residence, vs. where your living when posted to a base, that may pose an issue for you.  If you're officially a resident of another state, then you'd have to have the gun shipped to an FFL (dealer) in your "home state."

Dealers are legally limited to $35 for PPT (personal party transfers) and have to do them as part of their licensing.  But many don't like to do them, so bear that in mind.  Finding a good shop who'll work with you on this will make the process easier; those are the shops to reward with your future business IMHO.

A good place to start doing your homework on buying a gun in CA is www.calguns.net.

The link to prep for the HSC is http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/hscinfo.php

The study guide for it is http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/hscsg.pdf
