Been wanting to take my son to shoot his 22 but the range has gotten too expensive. Would not like to go off-roading by myself (golden rule #1) SO, here's an open invite to anyone who would be interested.

No place definite in mind - also don't really know a good place to go that's 'legal'. As always will pack out what we pack in (police the area for shells and targets, etc before leaving).

The focus of day will be target shooting. The off-roading will be just getting there and back.

Open to any suggestions!

---------------------------

We'll have to plan this another day!

Forgot to mention Berdoo Canyon by Joshua Tree.  Haven't been through there in a while, so I can't attest to the type of crowd that goes there these days.  Just don't cross the park boundary line to shoot.

Hey cool! And I'm OK with any calibers. My son Zoe wants a Mosin-Nagant for his birthday. That thing gave me a bruised shoulder for a week!

Well if everyone who's interested will post their location we can figure a centralized area so its not too much of a drive for anyone. Just add you name to this list:

1.) Oz, Carrie & Zoe. Upland. Bringing Bolt Action 22LR and whatever targets we can think of.

I have been out shooting in a dog's age ... I can go as long as it's not too far off road (I'm on recall duty next weekend).

Riverside.

Speaking or which... great minds think alike! I was just out in the desert in Ocotillo this weekend with some friends to go shooting! Had to get away from the harsh stormy weather and camped in a BLM area which is known to be gun-friendly.

Here are the coordinates.

Hey Oz, count me in, I've got a .22 as well.  The wifey will be out of town on a business trip this week and won't be back until late Sat night.  I've only been up the 15 and just outside of the Hinkley area, out in the middle of the desert.

Oz,

I am currently on vacation in Kauai, BUT, saw your post here.  I have mentioned to Frank, Bobby, and Mitch here about a possible weekend of off roading, target shooting, and BBQ'ing out at some property we own near Ranchita.

We have a target range and skeet area set up shooting into a big dirt berm.  There is room for tent camping and we have a campfire area as well.

Can't make the 26th as I return on the 1st of March, but keep in mind for maybe a future SCCX Club run.
