I had to take my rear sway bar for my lift on my 2010 OR, with the AAL to make my leaf pack stiffer, I really didn't notice much of a difference.  As long as your not driving like a crazed maniac (shouldn't be in an Off-road SUV), you should be good to go.  With out that rear sway bar, you'll get more travel/flex in the rear off road.

For most people, the rear sway bar simply takes up space in the garage.  Its function is largely ceremonial.

The rear one isn't very useful - it does protect the rear differential while backing into things.

The front one is "very exciting" to drive without - very exciting. There's a cloverleaf out here that I take a couple times a week. I had broken a sway bar link so disconnected the still functional one and tied the sway bar up to avoid wheel damage. Taking my normal cloverleaf on ramp I found the truck tipping way over and the steering got weird.

I can't think of any warranty concerns from removing the rear sway bar.

I've managed with mine sitting on the floor of the garage for a few years now (the rear bar, not the front one).

Just remember you're driving a rather heavy vehicle with the handling characteristics and aerodynamics of a large cinder block.

On the other hand... I'm not opposed to removing the rear bar, I've just never bothered. I think I can safely say I've been on some of the most difficult runs the club has done and having the rear bar has not limited me.

OK, now I'm really confused. I have done some hairball offroading in my xterra, mind you this is my third xterra and never thought of removing it. I guess i remove it for a few months to try it out. Thank you for all your input.

I ripped the mount off of mine at full flex on the rocky hill of doom and ended up damaging the right rear shock...removed it the next day. Replaced the shocks a week later.
Handles just fine.
My 2 cents.

They actually sell a quick release system.

I actually leave mine on for everyday driving. It's easy enough to take off before trips just so the trail doesn't help you take it off. I drive pretty straight and normal most of the time, SoCal freeways right. But don't know how it would be driving everyday on curvy mountain  roads without one.

Curvy mountain roads are not really a problem - I would think that it's the abrupt swerve to avoid something or someone on the freeway at 60-70mph where you really have to be careful.

That's pretty much why I leave mine on there Frank. I know engineers and we all know car companies, they don't throw something on there that cost money to produce unless it serves a purpose. In this case you might not realize the purpose until it's too late.

If I came over to your house tonight and removed it you would never know it was missing. Just take it off and throw it in the dumpster. Some peeps have had their's hang up on a rock and caused some damage (albeit minor)
