This sounds like a good idea but like Paul said, some Earthquake prep is not a bad idea.  Got any pics of your foil project we can see?

You may have seen I just posted pics of my two week long trip.  It was soooo nice to have a fridge.  My previous one week trip to Moab I had to use a cooler because I didn't have a fridge yet.  At that time I ended up having to buy ice every few days and by the end I threw away so much food due to it getting soggy or just not staying cold enough.  This trip I never worried about it and any food left over just went back into my fridge at home.  I know it's not a cheap purchase but if you can swing it I highly recommend it.  I found mine used on craigslist.

The previous recommentdation about freezing food and water bottles is a great idea and that's what I did with a cooler.  It buys you another day or two and then you have bonus drinking water when those bottles thaw.

I have a Norcold.  It's smaller than the ARB.  Might be a 40 quart.

I don't have any pics of my cooler covers but here is a link to home depot where I bought the foil coated bubble wrap.

http://www.homedepot.com/Building-Materials-Insulation-Radiant-Barrier/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xhcZbedf/R-100052556/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Next time I open up my pop up camper I will pull out the coolers and take some pics and post them for you to see. This whole thread has got me thinking about making some interior liners for the coolers as well. That should add a day or 2 to the life of the ice and pay for it self in a couple of trips easily.

More pics of the install please.  I agree that this is a serious MOD from a $$$ stand point, but going iceless would be a welcome day for me.

I have another friend who owns one of these, and loves it.  Cold and soggy is a far cry from cold and fresh for sure.
