After two years, I am starting to see results....
01 Xterra, 5 speed, 4:60 gears
3 inch Cal-mini lift, Bielsteins, rear Diff guard, Gibson performance exhaust, Airaid and Turbonator intake systems and an Optima battery. Bottom of door sections are treated with Rhinoliner protection. Included is an, 8000 lb Smittybuilt winch with custom tube bumper by Obsidian Fabrication. The inside includes a custom rack in the rear to hold tools, an air tank and those offroad necessities, like floor jack, 12V compressor (X2) tire repair kits, etc etc.
Wheels are black 15 inch with 1 1/2 inch offset, mounted with B.F. Goodrich KM2 at 33X10.50X15. Cobra C.B. is inset into center console, using a Wilson mag base antena.
Coming soon: On the work bench is the ARB front air locker and Grassroots 4X4 heavy center drag link with
Moog tie-rods from a mid 79's Chevy pick up to add years of pleasure. ( I hope!)

Very nicely done. I wish my wife could appreciate my scratches on my rig. Think about it we pay a lot of money and put in tons of time to be able to get those scratches.  |

Yes, I was struggling to make mud guards for the rear. What you see are belts from an Artic Cat snow machine. Now that the wheels and tires are done, I see the gremlins are at work to set up some new issues, as usual. With the bigger tires (33 inch) I went to the local motocross track to check the room left around the tires under extreme articulation. I noticed now that I get a small rub at the very back of the wheel well, at the Nissan mud flap, and at the very top of the well, due to my mud flaps at the top of the well. So, I have cut the rear of the flaps back even more to avoid that rub, and have ordered the Pacer Idustries flaps to match the ones up front. Thanks to J.C Whitney, they arrived just today.
Next is to figure out the installation, and to see if I can cut the fender well metal up vertically about 3/4 an inch and fold the metal over as done in the front wheels. I may elect to go higher with the flaps, covering above the rear door edge with the new flap, and then cutting appropriately to allow the door to open, of course! i just need to see how much material might show under that rubber flap, cause it's gotta look nifty!!

Hey, finally got the camera set up; here are the shots of the rack I did. The board you see on the right side folds away, and is there so my wonderful wife can make us sandwiches on the trail....what a guy!!  |
