Took it in today to get it smogged and the guy couldn't believe how clean it was running so he looked over the truck again trying to see if I am cheating.
At 25 mph (1760 rpm) it emitted 14.9% C02 and 0.1% 0.2%.
HC measured 0 PPM with a max of 31 PPM allowed.
CO measured 0.00% with a max of .73% allowed.
NO measured 23 PPM with a max of 747 PPM allowed.

Good to know it is running so clean for an 8 year old truck.

Wow that is very clean.  Mayber you're one of the lucky ones who got a very well built Xterra.  Mine passed smog easily also but not that clean.

Maybe, but I also baby my engine. I do have a volant cai and the nismo cat back exhaust.
I change the oil and filter every 2700 to 3000 miles and I only use Castro GTX and the Fram Heavy Duty filter. If I run it hard or take a long trip towing my popup camping trailer (1400 pounds with gear and motorcycle) I change even sooner like 2000 miles. Small price compared to a new engine. Most of my driving is 6 miles to work and 6 miles back on PCH. X has 78,000 miles on it. I hardly put 8000 miles a year on it. Bought it 4 1/2 years ago used with 44,000 miles on it. Will admit it weighs about 300 pounds more from all the steel hanging on it,
ie; Gobi roof rack , schrock sliders, skidrow skid plates, full calmini lift etc.

I think with all that gear and armor, you're looking at more than 500lbs.
