I'm thinking of getting the Jet ECU upgrade for more power in the mid and high range.  Has anyone gotten this?

I actually think it's only available on OBD1 Trucks but here's the link:

Yeah i think it's all OBD1 trucks. not necessarily rice rockets.
It allows custom tuning on the fly.

I haven't found a tuning controller for the OBDII other than the jet ECU reprogramming.  I have been inquiring with the mfg's of tuning systems at ALL the trade shows to see if they would develop something for the Frontier/Xterra.  Mainly to generate a buzz so they can see that there's an interest in those makes.

It's all about the low-range!

I'm going to get a smaller pulley for my SC as well as some low-range cams, gears and a chip...  Haven't looked much into the chip yet...

So what if my top speed will be 65mph?  LOL

Cost $250-280, adds 14hp and 18 ft. lbs. torque across the entire powerband, widens injector pulse width, motor runs richer, cooler EGT temps, You actuallysave gas if you drive conservatively, but YOU MUST USE 91 octane.  Takes 1 da turnaround lead time.

65 might be fine for you but I'm the one who passes you up on the fast lane at 85mph.  You know, things to do, people to see...

Ha ha, I finally did it!  I got the jet ECU upgrade june 18 at the 4 Wheel Parts tquck and jeep fest for $285 + tax.  Went to their office in huntington bch, took out the computer, handed it to them and they were done in 1.5 hrs.  Popped it back in with a new fuel filter and IT WAS AN OBVIOUS IMPROVEMENT!  Feels like i picked up 10 - 15 hp.  They estimate 12 - 17, but it is a big improvement going uphill loaded down with gear.  It was worth it.

Ok, now for an update.  We are now in mid-August, 3 mos after the computer got chipped, and i can tell you that I still have work to do.  The JET chip made a big improvement in city driving, getting better fuel mileage, and a slight improvment on the uphill climbs.  Going up the 15 fwy on the Cajon Pass WITH 31's, I still have to drop to 3rd or 4th gear.  Not good enough for me.  Need to improve fuel delivery and so far, the Walboro 300ZX hi-Flow fuel pump seems to be the answer.  OE fuel strainer fits backwards unless you modify the bottom fuel pump craddle so that the strainer lays in the correct position.  Its actually not as hard as it sounds.  I'Ll have to give an update and pics on this later.  So far, the JET chip was very worth it.

Ok.  We are now in December and I've had an interesting time testing the Jet chip.  I recently bought an Aeromotive Stealth 340 hi-flow fuel pump for $135 and its a DIRECT REPLACEMENT to the original one.  The chip with the fuel pump have made massive improvements in power.  Stronger pulls up to redline.  Very noticeable on the uphill drives and fuel economy went from 15mpg to 13mpg, 260 to 210 mi. per tank, but thats with a heavy lead foot.  I'll have the pics up eventually.

Funny thing, after installing the Mean Green alternator in, my fuel consumption improved again and I can go 240 miles on a full tank.  I wonder if the old alternator was showing  signs of failure and I missed it.  Anyhow, bought it from RuggedRocks.com for $400 with taxes included, took about 1 week for delivery.  Went in with no issues.
