Hi guys/girls,

I haven't met most of you, but I'm Gavin and I work for a wheel company named Voxx Products www.voxxwheel.com.  I drive a Gen 1 X and recently had trouble finding wheels for it... so I designed/engineered/and produced my own wheel called the OR-9.

I currently stock 17x8.5, 18x8.5, and 20x8.5 in two colors (matte black and matte black machined center) for the Gen 2 vehicles.  If anyone is interested in a set, let me know.

I'm kicking around replacing the steel and rubber this year. I'm looking at BFG KM2 tires and something black and steel like the MB 72 or the Unique 297. There are few 4.5-6 wheels and even fewer that are designed for off road rather than mall crawling with big lips, lots of chrome and 20" wheel leaving little rubber room.

I'm going by America's Tires and Just Tires this weekend and chat with the sales guys.

Voxx are the shitz - the 350Z guys love them.

... and howwabout a 16 x 8 beadlock version ?  Currently there are no beadlocks for 6 x 4.5 wheels

Thanks for the compliments guys. I didn't respond to the posts earlier because I'm currently abroad checking out our manufacturing facilities. 

America's Tire is a great retail chain- I'm honored to be one of their core vendors.  Outside of Califormia they are called Discount Tire and have close to 800 retail locations.  They are the largest independently owned tire & wheel retail chain in the US.

Its good to know the 350z guys liking my quality.  Voxx Products strives to supply better than average quality at competitive prices.

I really want to do a true beadlock, but because they're not street legal I'm unable to mass produce them.  I'm probably going to run 15x7 bedlocks on my samurai, but even at a discount I'll pay over $125 each for Allied beadlocks.  KMC has some true beadlocks but they are really expensive and are produced in China.  The Allied beadlocks are built in So Cal so I'll probably pick a set up once I have my lift installed. 

I recommend running a 17x8.5 so you can still run a 12.50" tire with as much sidewall as possible.  Obviously a 15" or 16" would be even better, but because of the front brake calipers a 17" is one of the smallest sizes that will fit without brake mods.

what is the correct back space for the gen 2 ? it still 6 on 5.5 right?

Rock wheels had a really great new take on the beadlock by making two piece rim that is cut right down the middle and uses a flat thick rubber on the inside that compresses both the inner and outer beads.  Ideal for field trail repairs.  They had a great display a the Lucas Oil offroad Expo.  Maybe VOXX can make something like that.
