I'd like to hit Death Valley during my Xmas break. Looking for others interested...

My plan is to spend 3-5 days camping/exploring/offroading. The best times might be the 18th-22nd ish. Anyone interested?

Hey Travis, good to see you here.

I usually head out there between Xmas and NY (I think we talked about this last year too) and am looking into heading out there this year around that time.    Not sure yet if I can go this time -- gas money's tight and some family stuff going on -- but it might be a possibility.

It'd be more of a photo/exploration thing than a wheeling trip.  There also have been some news of new closures out there that I'm looking into as well.  Word of it is on the message board at deathvalley.com.  Still no gas at Scotty's either.

Yeah I might be interested too depending on the focus of the trip.

Like Bobby I'd like an exploring and photography trip more than extreme wheeling.

The trip will include some exploring, hiking, photography, and of course dirt roads. I'll post details this weekend on my plans. I'd like to hike on some dunes, see the racetrack, and spend a night in the Geologists Cabin in Butte Valley. Any other ideas?

Yeah could make it friday 12/19 for 3 days or so Cheesy

Last years route was great:
Ballarat -> Goler Wash toward Butte Valley, Badwater to Eureka Dunes, Dedekera Canyon, Steele Pass, Saline Valley, Hot Springs to Batrock Road -> Hunter Pass and beyond.

Pleasant Cyn & South Park Loop would be sweet but might be a bit cold at top so we could camp down in SP if thats the case.

Interested.  How technical are you willing to go on this trip?
