I notice that on this recent Mojave run Xcursion, that there was no sign pointing to the Afton Cyn. Campsite on you exit from the 15 Fwy. which to me was a bit confusing since I don't have GPS or a Navigation system.  Is there a way that we can make the sign or several along the way indicating which way to the campsite, install them in place and donate them as a club?  Where do we start?  Who do we contact?  What will the signs look like?  How do we collect for the material?  Who in sccx.com would approve this?

Is this even do-able?

Knowing how the government works it's likely illegal to post anything anywhere near the road without a permit and approval.

Caltrans? County?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't recall Afton Canyon Campground being all that hard to find, and I did not have a GPS at the time I was there. I seem to recall it was well marked on the paper maps and guidebooks.

I've got to agree with Frank.  The exit is marked, is on maps, and Brian posted this, "exit Afton Canyon Rd and head east on the dirt access road to the campground."  It's hard to miss.

I know, but I'm talking about some wooden signs with writing and arrows.  If you guys think it's not worth it, lets move on to another topic.  Thnaks for the input!
