Nissan 4x2 / 4x4 / Desert Runner King Kong Steering Kit
The Nissan King Kong steering system is designed to eliminate the problematic sloppy steering associated on the 4wd and 4x2 Frontier, Desert Runner and XTerra’s. Starting with the stock centerlink pins that get worn and cause most the slop in Nissan steering, TC built an 11⁄4” custom chromoly replacement that is designed to double shear a custom idler arm, gusseted pitman arm and heim inner tie-rod ends for maximum strength and durability. TC retains the factory idler arm pin for ease of bolt on reinstallation, and incorporates the idler arm gusset to prevent the pin from bending. The custom idler arm internal components include double stacked internal sealed roller bearings that replace the factory inner rod ends and include a Teflon lined bushing and chromoly inner sleeve that upgrade where the idler arm pivots. The inner sleeve prevents over tightening the idler arm guts during assembly and all components are individually replaceable. TC gussets and modifies the factory pitman arm to incorporated a 3⁄4” uniball and misalignment spacers which bolt to the centerlink. TC utilizes 5/8” grade 8 hardware to connect the centerlink, idler arm and pitman arm components. A $65 pitman arm core charge must be applied. Heim steering is required to install the steering system. Stock length applications will be available Fall 05.
