Volant CAI vs KN CAI

Any thoughts on either if these intakes would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has had experience with BOTH of these and can tell me which they liked better and why, I think that would be the most helpful for me.

You want the Volant

Volant: sealed air box

KN: open to the engine bay

The thing is with the Volant though is you want to change the oil filter to an air filter. Next Gen air sensors don't like any oil/gunk and neither do the throttle bodies. Dunno about gen ones.

I second that, I run the K and N and I get it trashed all the time while Volant is neat and clean. Considering changing later but to many other things to get. Not to mention house repairs now'

the new oil less filter is better but with the oil you can freshen it up with a shot of oil. Neither gen likes the oil on the MAS but if you are getting oil there , then you are doing something wrong..... Oil Filter not on the truck and not while running seems to work best IMO

Here is a thought- get a prefilter like I did!  It was all of $15 including shipping and was custom made to fit my K&N air filter.  It keeps sand away from my K&N and I haven't have any issues with it yet.

The company is Outerwears and they make all of K&N's prefilters.  They have two designs- one specifically for fine sand and the other is splash repellant.
