For about six bucks I can replace the boot. Anyone done this ? I cant see at the moment how to get the stock bands off of the boot or how to get the boots off of the shaft. Anyone? Bobby?

If you need a cv boot strapping tool let me know.  I bought one a while back and it makes the job pretty easy.

hmm not good since I didnt know there is a special tool. I might just do what mitch was suggesting and replace the shaft anyhow. It makes sense since the work is exactly the same. just trying to save some money.
