The Warn manual hub is a replacement for the factory automatic hub.  It mainly provides peace of mind for those of us who don't trust a gizmo to unlock our hubs for us.

Why would you want to unlock your hubs in the first place? Cheesy

So when you go to 4WD the gizmo locks the hubs and when you go back to 2WD - and back up - the gizmo unlocks?

That is the "theory" behind the gizmo.

I've had my hubs unlock a few times while backing up in the sand.  When I was driving to Holcomb gost town pass this weekend (in a foot of snow) I was worried about turning around on the trail.  Luckily the hubs stayed engaged and I didn't have a problem.

I'm planning on upgrading to the warn hubs myself.
