I like to go 1-2 times a year and already have a trip planned. Maybe I can make the next one.

Hey Jeff thank you for starting interest. As you can see this won't be until august-november.
Any insite you have would be greatly apreaiated. Pm or email me

Hope more people like the idea. I've only done it once but in a ford windstar, strictly highway, no offroad and 50mph;/

How far do you want to go down?  Good destinations on the Sea of Cortez are Bahia De Los Angeles, Mulege, and Loreto.  You can do almost entirely dirt roads going down that side, but it is remote and a desert so be prepared.  The Pacific side is more populated and  much windier and colder so it's not as enjoyable to camp in my opinion.

no lower than Bahaia De los Angeles, due to the fact that tis is a 3 day 2 night deal.
from san Diego its 424 mi, 8 hours 5 mins taking the Carr Federal 1/Mexico. this distance would be ideal to allow enough time for roaming around, trail rides, maybe some bring toys, camping etc. Im thinking this would be a perfect location. Meet spot somewhere in San Diego to Bahaia De Los Angeles. What do you guys think?

My avatar pic is me hooked up on a Yellowtail in Bahia De los Angeles. Been down there many times. If you leave early in morning it only takes about 9 hours to get there. The best place for Wheeling down there (IMO) is in El Rosario witch is the half way point. Thats where the Baja 5000 runs also.

October I am in Big Bear for a Club event, CANVAZ II...then November on vacation with my son.

Honestly, travel in Mexico at this point for me is a bit sketchy.  But with a group might be okay.  I used to travel a lot in Baja California during the 70's and 80's, but as the violence and cartel activity ramped up, my desire waned.  Just my .02.

thanks for the input John.I hear the stories too but I went to tour a friends winery and had no problems. There are some places to avoid however but with a group and proper precautions I believe it to be a great trip. Could you possibly make room in october, i enjoyed your leadership style. Still in the air as far as date but im picking up intrest in CF with 8 total so far. let me know.

I'll be down there July 20-27 fishing with 13 other friends. I don't think I would be able to go again this year. Just to far to go for a coupe of days. Trust me it's a long ride. Check out www.bahiadelosangeles.info there is some good info and pics on there.
