I have 2000 Xterra V6 with a 5spd 4 WD transmission. Fixed a few other leaks on front, new seals, silicone and such but now I have a bad oil leak coming from the engine's rear main seal on the back of the motor. I've never worked on a 4WD tranny before so I don't know how hard is it to take the transfer case off of it. I heard that the tranny output splind just slides off. Can anyone verify?
**Update: Got it done in one weekend. Ended up needing a rebuild on the Transmission plus the reverse idler gear, $1198.00 and three days.

All this work just to get to a $10 seal.
