So I have been doing some reading and wanted to get some input on the whether or not it is absolutely needed to get an extension done on all the breathers on my X. Now granted I don't do a whole lot of water crossing, my X is lifted and sits on 33"s. But at the same point if I do any water crossing, how well do the stock breathers fair?

I think its still a good upgrade to do considering the massive flooding that we'll get when the end of the world comes during the Mayan Armaggedon December 12, 2012.

For once I'm in absolute agreement with Irwin.

yes you should do it - there have been instances whereas the OEM breather failed (clogged) and the axle died an unfulfilled life

Ah man. The end of the world is THIS year? I totally forgot. Guess I need to update the bucket list and quit my day job.

Thanks Frank.  A lot of local offroad shops like McKenzies in Anaheim have these nice aluminum breathers for all 3 hoses.  Lets you mount it up high on the firewall away from any water that might creep up in there.  You would have to get a longer breather hose but the benefits outweigh the consequences.
