Is there a cabin air filter on a 2000 Xterra 4WD?  If so, how do I replace it?  I've got allergies!

yes there are
you have to remove the glove box and use a utilitiy knife to cout out a small section
The filters come with instuctions on where to cut
took me about a half hour to do it.
not hard at all

On a scale of 1-5 (1=easy, 5=hardest), how hard is it to do?

1 - really really easy.  You'll need a 10mm socket wrench and philips head screw driver.

I have a scar that proves nothing requiring a utility knife is "really really easy".

let me give you an idea of my skill
it took me about two days and 12 post to install my front tow hooks
it took me about 30 min to remove the glove box cut out the little section (follow the grove), install the filters and replace the glove box & 0 post
The easest mod i ever did.
I was a bit scared cutting out the section. just line up the blade by the "grove" and move slowly. very simple
Much easer than posting a pick
