So I'm going up to Sequoia for the first time with 3 other families, they're all related, we are tagging along.  We will be there camping for the 4th of july wkend starting on friday and are staying at the Potwiha campgrounds.  Does anyone have any do's or don'ts for 1st timers?

You're killing me here.....we were supposed to go a couple of weeks ago but our reservations at Princess campground were canceled due to snow.  If it's not too cold we like floating around Hume lake, I've had good luck fishing the stream under the bridge near the swim area and that's pretty good since I usually can't catch a fish if my life depended on it.  Crystal cave is nice, the fire lookout tower has awesome views if it's open and is where I saw the one and only marmot I've ever seen.  Morro rock has some incredible views too.  There were some cool meadow hikes in that area too.  Of course the many giant sequoias.  Oh I wish I was going......

Ha ha ha!  Sorry to hear about the snow.  I'Ve read that the marmots like to chew on radiator hoses.  What is a marmot and has anyone had this problem?
